YSK: Ontario Works covers updated training

If you're unemployed or underemployed and you can prove that employers are seeking recent specific training in your field, Ontario works will cover training courses. E.g. If an employer turns you down for a job, provides written reasoning such as you don't have specific training in what they're looking for, you can seek approval and reimbursement from Ontario works for courses to update your skills with that training. One major benefit of this is people in this province, the unemployed/underemployed, businesses, will have an advantage competing with people and businesses elsewhere.

You can even do online courses from home via sites like udemy.com (which I highly recommend). Google around for coupons you can find some as low as $15.

If you're going to seek reimbursement, it's a good idea to contact your Ontario Works worker to see if you qualify first before spending any money.
