I finally got my act together and ran my first run...
... and what a feeling! I got off my computer-playing butt, got my dad to help me find some running gear all the way in the back of the closet: a T-shirt with small holes in them, some shorts with whatever that fishnet thong inside is supposed to be and some socks. If you can't tell, I haven't gotten hold of the runner lingo yet, especially since I am not a native English speaker.
Nevertheless, I put on my comfortable, old (and dirty) Geox shoes and ran about 2 kilometers (ca. 1.25 miles) in 13 minutes. It certainly didn't feel like 13 minutes; it felt like half the time maybe. Anyway, my dad guided me on the basics: just run naturally, since the body adjusts your running style based on your body among other facturs, look straight ahead, so you straighten yourself; relax your upper body, especially the shoulders, control your breathing and focus just on running, don't run too fast and sometimes maybe vary your way of running. And do it about every third day for a month before running further. Do tell if any of these facts are perhaps out of date or just plain wrong.
However, I wasn't really exhausted when I was done, but I could feel something that wasn't really soreness but just something in my shins and in places I didn't even know you could feel things. A quick Google search tells me it's the head of the gastrocnemius muscle, so I've also learned something today! Anyway, thank you for reading me rambling.
Conclusion: I am going to keep on running; it feels just right for me.
