Need help on understanding price of fine art prints.

Hey all,

I contacted a professional photographer that has specific images and prints in his collection that I thought I might have interest in. It turns out he does. As a professional photographer he has sold/leased or however it works his images to magazines/books etc.

However, the subject matter I contacted him about he has not released, nor have I found his images out there or in books.

While I realize the fine art world is 100% subjective, but what can I expect to pay for a a 34 x 20 photograph if it is considered a fine art print? I was planning on buying 2 of them, and he said he would would sell a maximum of 5 of them, so they would likely be labeled and signed out of /5.

Just looking for a range, but I completely understand it's really up to what the artist asks and what a person is willing to pay. I'm just not familiar with the gallery world.
