Standard event types for DBUS?
Hi all. I've read a bit about how DBUS works and I was wondering whether there has been any attempt to standardise certain desktop event types so that applications can listen in on them.
I did a quick search but couldn't find any specification or discussion on the matter.
Why would this be useful? Well it would allow applications to have a tighter integration with the desktop shell and machine environment without having to resort to conditional checks based on desktop shell. It's a move towards a better user experience across Linux distros.
tldr; Is there a standard list of dbus event types that most desktop shells / Linux distros implement?
edit Whoops, I did find this slightly outdated website https://specifications.freedesktop.org/. I'm not sure if all the specifications are DBUS though.
