How do I have fun in this game?

I just got the game and so far I'm not having fun at all. I bought it to play with my friends because they said the game is fun, addictive and such. We played a few games, and so far it's nothing but looting, waiting an eternity for the hole to close and then kill people from afar or get killed from afar. Then the game ends, thats it.

Am I missing something? What is it about this game that makes it so fun and addictive?
