Killer on the Streets

So a while back I had this dream where I was just walking down the quiet road near my house, and some random guy jumps from behind the bushes, and attempts to stab me, but misses.

For whatever reason, I also had a knife in hand, so I successfully stab him. Blood pours out and he falls to the ground. When I turn around and continue walking, he stands back up, and fails to stab me again. The process repeats for a while, and after a few times, I start running at full speed.

The guy's walking pretty slow now, so I'm able to outrun him and get to my home.

I hide near a 2nd floor window, and when he starts coming down my street, he looks in every house. When he gets to my house, he looks at it for about 30 minutes, and then goes to look in my neighbor's house.

Any ideas on what this could mean?
