Impact of Words
Right, this may seem like a pity story, but there is a genuine question related to adhd here. So while i was at the bank today, i heard two girls behind me mention i was ugly. I have been sulking all day over this, i could not get it out of my head, and had an overflow of all sorts of emotions. Is it an adhd thing to constantly replay negative thoughts? This has happened to me my entire life, if one person says something negative to me, i shut down the rest of the day brooding over it. Its like getting hit by a brick wall, and no matter how many positives happen to me, that negative is still controlling me. I hate it! I automatically agree with anyone who says something poor of me, and it dominates my self esteem. Even being ignored in conversation has impacted me, i wont speak unless spoken to for hours after. Sorry if this doesnt make much sense, im partly typing this out of genuine inquiry, partly out of self-loathing, and partly out of an urge to get my mind somewhere else.
