Perianal Abcess

Evening ladies and gents. I'm not a sufferer of Crohn's but didn't know where else to post this so apologies in advance.

I've got a perianal abcess right by my bum hole, I'm 27 and very hairy, I can't walk or sit without being In pain. I'm on antibiotics but my abcess doesn't have a head on it, GP said they won't drain it without a head, is this normal? How do people manage / cope with these? I've been off work today and probably will be tomorrow too.
