What this sub should be talking about right now

Now I only watched the episode once so maybe I'm just remembering wrong but at the beginning of the episode R&M are collecting those worm things and Rick says to hurry because if they get into the food chain the whole planet will become sterile or something like that. Shortly before leaving to go to the Vindicators, a bird comes and scoops one up and Rick tells Morty he might want to freeze some of his sperm.

Perhaps I'm unobservant but that is the last mention of those creatures in the entire episode. Usually when Rick's hijinks cause a problem on Earth and he leaves he comes back to the mess and fixes it but nothing like that happens cause they're dealing with drunk Rick's shenanigans. So is the whole planet just clapped or did I miss something?
