[Everything] Difference between wight and white walker

I wonder as to the difference between these two cretures. My thinking so far is a wight is just a re-animated corpse, like a zombie; and a white walker has more of a conversion (?) process, and they seem to be more .... sentient, aware, capapble of thought/strategy.

Am I close? Can someone explain the two?

Thanks.
