I'll be passing through your fine state next week! looking for tips!

I'm leaving next week for a road trip that will take me through St. Louis to Kansas City on I70, then up through the rest of the state along I29. I'll be traveling with my fiancée and we're hoping to cover our 1000 miles in a day. St. Louis is roughly our mid-point and we should be there around 5pm. Any tips/tricks/things we should see or look out for along our drive?
