Problems with start up

For some odd reason, when I do a start up after shutdown my computer will get to the log in screen but won't load anything. When I hit restart it loads up fine. But it does this on every start up after a couple hrs.

Windows 10 Samsung evo 500gb 6600k with z170 mark 1 tuff mobo Gtx 970 - gigabyte "xtreme" Wd blue 500gb (older, maybe the culprit)

I did swap my hdd because my friend wanted my wd black 5tb I had in. Unplugged the hdd when I did fresh install originally

I do have a lot of peripherals if that makes a difference...lots of start up programs.

Logitech program for mouse Corsair program with keyboard. GeForce assistant And I couple others I can't remember off the top of my head.

Any ideas?
