I’m the Co-Founder of a bootstrapped business with no funding, and we grew from 5 to 25 employees in the past 3 years. AMA!

My short bio: Hello, my name is Emre Akkas! I am the CEO and Co-Founder of Globalme (www.globalme.net), a Localization, Data Collection & Testing company based in Vancouver. We support our clients expand globally and adapt their products and services to international markets.

The roots of the company were seeded while I was employed. I worked after regular business hours and freelanced with a few companies. After about 3 years, I had to make a decision: do I stay with my day job and advance in my career or quit and focus on the business? To make the situation more complicated, my status in the US did not allow the second option as I was on a work visa. So I applied to Canada for immigration, got accepted and quit my job to move and start the business. The road to where we are today was bumpy but very satisfactory. We were able to grow the company to 25 employees organically, without any outside investment. AMA!
