dry skin proactiv help

hey guys, i started using the walmart proactiv alternative, but it dried my skin a lot, i have normally dry skin anyway and i've stared moisturizing lately, the thing is proactives moisturizer has benzoyl peroxide which is said to dry your skin even more, so is the moisturizer even good or should i use it and another normal moisturizer? even cutting back to one use a day of proactiv my skin is dry because i have always had dry skin.
