Do clipped birds normally breathe heavy with their beak open when they fly a little farther than usual?
I read that breathing heavy from exercise and breathing with an open beak can be signs of respiratory issues and illness, but I always just though it was because my bird is currently clipped and not in the greatest of shape. Is heavy breathing after intense flight normal? He doesn't do it during short burst of flight, just the longer ones.
