IndoorGardening on Easy mode ???

I'm about to start indoor/gardening in a room of about 500 sq ft, great sunlight but small window openings.

I will be focusing a lot on ferns like this for functional purposes:

Originally I was gonna do a lot of one or two tropical indoor plants. Bamboo palm is a top choice since I know from experience:

  1. hardy. Bamboo palm is a survivor.
  2. grows quickly

But with the ferns covering air purifying functionality, I'm now open to any options that are

  1. easy for an out of practice novice grower
  2. hardy, will survive occasional overwatering (tho I promise to be vigilant and clear drain pans regularly) and whatnot.
  3. bonus: air purifier or does something functional!
