Best 'local' not super-fancy, not large-chain, but not cheap restaurant?

I've found a bunch of spectacular places in Charlotte recently. Cowfish is great (it's a sushi/burger place); Duck Donuts has provided heaven in doughy form. What's a great local restaurant which is affordable, but not cheap/fast food that people should visit?

Edit: Yes I mean in YOUR area, explain how it's awesome! Also 'heaven' not 'heave'.
