My fiancé (25F) is working 70+ hour weeks and it's ruining her relationship with me (30M)
Together for 5 years, engaged for 3 months. Our wedding is coming up in just a couple months and she is busy working a second job to pay her half of the wedding/honeymoon costs. We will only have a short 6 month engagement so it was a really short amount of time to come up with the money for the wedding, which my fiancé knew (she picked the date) but now she's stuck working two jobs to pay her half.
She makes about $20k more annually than me but since I'm older and have been working longer, I have a nice savings cushion that I dipped into to pay off my half of the expenses. I would normally help her but I'm just pissed off because the reason she's working so much is because she's not compromising on any of her other expenses. She has a couple of big trips coming up next year (3-6 months after our wedding) that she has to pay for. Our honeymoon is already a huge trip/expense (think three weeks in Europe, 8k total. The wedding itself is just a small dinner, city hall) I'm not going on those other trips with her. I just wish she had not planned them or moved them down a few more months so that she didn't have to work so much.
Now, she's working 70+ hours a week and I barely see her and feel really distant from her. I don't like feeling this way when we're about to get married. Also, she still owes me $2k from when she borrowed money a year ago which also makes me hesitant about paying more for a honeymoon I don't care about. What should I do? We're already stuck paying off this honeymoon and she already booked her other trips so she can't really cancel anything...should I help her out knowing she might not come up with the money and continue spending frivolously?
TLDR: fiancé is working 70+ hours to pay for wedding/honeymoon because she also planned several other trips in this short time frame. I feel disconnected and distant from her. What to do
