Is "no problem" acceptable as opposed to "your welcome"?

So as the title says I am wondering if the use of "no problem" is acceptable as a replacement for "you're welcome". So I work at a frozen yogurt shop as a summer job and I deal with customers of all ages everyday. I am also very introverted and I hate it if I cause any sort negative emotions in people, I also am very self conscious and it bothers me a ton when dealing with people I dont know. I naturally gravitate towards say "no problem" when people thank me (not sure why) and occasionally people can give agitated/ annoyed looks. I understand why, no problem doesnt exactly seem like the socially accepted response to thank you, but saying "your welcome" makes me feel awkward and it seems too formal. Is there any correct way to respond? I read this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/socialskills/comments/41n9h0/apparently_its_rude_to_say_no_problem/

But I feel my situation is a little different and the post is over a year old and I would like an updated opinion on how to respond.

Thank you for taking time read this

Note: sorry for spelling errors, im typing on my very small phone.
