Subscribe and save?

I've been ordering bags of pet food from Amazon Prime for a few months now, so I signed up today for the Subscribe and Save promotion to get them shipped regularly. I don't understand shipping though. Had I ordered one bag regularly, I would receive it in 3 days. With the Subscribe and Save program, it says I will receive it on Aug 24th! Does anyone know why there's a delay in shipping for this feature?
