Landlord Dodging on Security Deposit

Hello all,

Here is my situation.

Buffalo,NY

$750 security deposit

Appartment complex

Left keys in unit when vacating property after receiving text approval from landlord that property is in good order and I would be receiving my full deposit.

He owns an LLC property management company.

Timeline of events.

On 6/30 Told deposit would be forwarded to my new address and told property had no issues.

7/7 7/29 Confirmed he had my new address to forward my deposit and received confirmation it was being sent next week each time.

8/8 8/11 8/14 Called, texted, and emailed with no response.

So my question is, what now? Should I peraue a small claims court? If so, how do I take care of it myself without a lawyer.

Any help/ insight is appreciated.
