Chewing Tobacco interfering with Kratom (reduces effects)

Anyone chew and burn Kratom at the same time? I'm relatively new to Kratom but unfortunately pretty well addicted to chewing tobacco (dip). I probably have a dip in easy 12hours a day. I try to wait 30min from burn to throw in a dip.

Sometimes it seems to stop the Kratom in its tracks or greatly reduce the effects. Curious if others experience similar interference or is this just in my head. Do you take anything (tums/antacid) that helps? Maybe this will give me an incentive to quit the dip.
