[S3E14] The Return retroactively giving original run subplots a purpose?
So one of the things I was hoping for out of The Return was that it would some of the more pointless subplots that ran through the original series (especially season 2) some kind of relevance. After watching E14 I was thinking - if Andy was really in the White Lodge, the silly Dick Tremayne sub-plot of S2 goes from fluff to 100% essential to understanding the purity of Andy's character. I think that's what the Wally Brando scene was about, too - Wally (pretty obviously) has Dick's "DNA" about him, but Andy doesn't care, he just beams with joy like any proud parent.
I'm pretty sure there's some other stuff in the pipeline related to the Hornes and James, I'm excited to see where that goes. Seems like there's some purpose to Bobby and Shelly's subplots too. Anything else anyone has noticed? EDIT: oh yeah and there's Nadine... I wonder...
