VLC 3 status?

When is VLC 3 with Chromecast support going to be released? I have been following the issue tracking in Roadmap for the last year, but I can't really understand how to read the progress: https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/roadmap. Am I looking at the right place. Or is anyone here informed on the current status?
