Joining Slack Groups?

I see a lot of slack groups being posted for the various cryptos. I'm wondering if anyone who is in any notices any trends or useful information in relation to updates/announcements vs spikes/dips? What I'm basically wondering is if the info in the Slack channel(s) worth the added hassle of keeping up with them?
