Cryptocurrency and Canadian taxes

Hi guys, I've made some money trading and investing in cryptocurrency. I've heard many different opinions and ideas from friends in the finance world regarding this and am confused. They all give ominous warnings about the CRA and how evil they are, lol. Btw my background is in biology, not anything finance, law and accounting.

Is there a website where the legality of cryptocurrency and Canadian tax law are explained? Or do I have to go see a CPA? Thanks.
