Down to a choice between the Honor 6x and Moto Z Play
I'm aware that one is technically a budget phone and the other one is borderline high end, but hear me out please.
The key things I need from a phone are, in order,
MUST have 5,5 inch screen, no larger or smaller. Larger might not fit my pockets, and smaller is bad on my eyes.
A battery that lasts as long as possible. I am absolutely willing to compromise on thickness and processing speed for this. (Play seems to win here, because its battery is about 100mAh larger, and the processors seem to be of equal efficiency)
"Acceptable" speeds. I've used low-end phones and they're basically good for my purposes. I only really use my phone for searching things up, reddit, and facebook. RAM is nice to keep these open at the same time, and processing speed is occasionally (rarely) nice to download quickly, but this is otherwise a tertiary concern (From what I could glean on the wiki, the 6x wins?)
I'm very rough with my things, so it's nice for it to be more on the durable end. Waterproofing isn't a must, but shockproofing is great. My old Samsung E7's display stopped working after I dropped a barbell on it, and while I don't need that level of endurance all the time, I've done just about everything else to it without issue. (couldn't find much info on the durability of the two, but the name and branding seems to indicate the Z Play, as stupid as that sounds)
Small bezels are nice so that the phone can fit comfortably in my pocket, but if I have to compromise, then fine. (Play seems to win this almost hands down, although its side bezel seems much larger. My pockets usually give up sideways rather than lengthwise, though.)
I DO like some fancy features, and NFC used to be mandatory in my phones. However, I've recently moved to a less tech-advanced city so features like that are more of a minor bonus to QOL now. (Z play wins here almost by definition)
Pricing isn't a huge issue, since my parents are getting me this phone as a gift, but I don't want to waste money on things that I'll turn out not to need. With these criteria in mind, should I choose the 6x or Z Play? The Z Play seems to hold a small upper hand here, but I've only read reviews from major sources, and nothing from people, per se, so I'd love PAAFM's thoughts on this.
Thank you for your time!
(Edit: The prices are 238 and 319 euros, respectively)
