Diana Heddwynn, Otter Physiology
Name: Diana Heddwyn
Age: 16
Hometown: Hiawatha, Iowa
Personality: Diana has high emotional walls, built up from years and years of parents (who hate each other) fighting, which gives her trouble talking about her emotions. However, she has the personality of an otter, being very social, kind, and playful, along with having an excellent sense of humor. However, when overstimulated, she will seclude herself to the nearest quiet place.
Power:
Otter Physiology: Diana has the sense of an otter. Her eyesight, hearing, and sense of smell is exceptional, allowing her to do all sorts of things the average human can't do, like smell pheremones, or see in low light. Physically, she has an exceptional ability to keep warm in the freezing cold. Diana is also quite strong, but nothing superhuman.
Drawbacks:
-Diana is very easily overstimulated. Anything from loud music, or a large amount of people talking to her at once, or someone wearing too much perfume can overwhelm her.
-Due to her metabolism being similar to that of an otter's, Diana has to eat a huge amount of food to sustain her body weight.
-Like an otter, Diana has a ton of hair. It's thickest on her legs and arms, but a thin layer is on her entire body.
Backstory:
Diana was raised in Iowa, like a normal kid. She did marching band, had a good social life, and participated in several clubs. However, like a lot of kids, her parents were divorced. And this divorce wasn't the type where the two parents can get along. No, her parents fought like children over the smallest things: when Diana could go over, who would take her to this practice, and all the other minutiae that divorced parents had to go through. To add to the suckiness of her parent's relationship, they frequently dragged Diana into this, asking her which parent she wanted to do this or that, which put an unfair amount of pressure on Diana. Because of all this turmoil, Diana learned to keep her emotions to herself, instead turning to her friends for help.
Other than that, Diana's life was pretty normal. Of course, until her mutation activated. After that, she had a bit of a fallout with her mother. Though Diana thought she could bring it to her mother, but instead of helping her, she gets screamed at, further sending the already overstimulated Diana into a state of panic.
Not knowing what to do, her mother calls Diana's father, and thankfully, he arrives to get her. Having several friends that are mutants, he helps her come back to a state of relative normalcy, and tells her about the island of Genosha.
Wanting to be somewhere she won't be ostracized for her strange new appearance, she agrees to go.
Diana shows up at the institute, pulling a suitcase and carrying a backpack. She looks rather dazed, overstimulated from the airport and the walk here.
She waits, looking for someone to show her where to go.
