Bat recommendations?

Hey everyone,

I'm an adult looking to return to the sport I love just for fun. I'd like to start going to the batting cages once a week to hit some balls just for fun and exercise. My question is, what kind of bats should I look into getting.

I definitely don't want to spend more than $100 bucks so there's my only real requirement. My main question is should I go for an aluminum (or alloy or whatever they make these days) or wood bat? I'd just use it in the cages and possibly join an adult softball league next year. Any thoughts on why I should choose one over another?
