Struggling with app dating

I have used two dating apps, Bumble and Jswipe. Although I've met some perfectly nice guys through both, I'm overall disappointed with their effectiveness. I feel like I'm not getting the results I should be with my "qualifications." On Bumble particularly, I'll get one match for every 10 right swipes. Maybe I'm just entitled as hell, but I suspect I'm just not presenting myself right - not playful enough? Not professional enough? Has anyone had insights into their app dating game, or is there a good subreddit for this? I hate to go on a male subreddit and ask them to critique my profile, but maybe that's the next step.
