Why do you think NBA players aren't getting the same scrutiny that NFL players get on social issues? (standing for the anthem)
Victor Oladipo said that there would be players sitting for the anthem in the NBA but as we saw last season but no player sat to my knowledge. I think the NBA has been able to fly under the radar on this aspect for whatever reason. I'm sure all sports have racially janky owners but the NBA has had recent issues with team ownership (Atlanta and the Clippers).
The NFL may be flawed socially but the damn NBA has a rule that says that players must stand for the anthem. I also think that the rule was negotiated with the Player's Union which makes just focusing on the NFL players to get with "the cause" to be a little side eye worthy. I think there has been more WNBA players and USWNT who sat than NBA players. People try to make the NBA to be a socially forward league.
Why are people just expecting NFL players to sit?
