Do you apply oil on dry or wet hair?

The eternal question.

Most other forums I've visited mostly say you should oil when wet or damp, that seems to have the best effect and leaves the hair in the best condition.

The problem is I like using Argan oil on my hair in the morning when it's dry before I exit the house because it acts as a leave in conditioner and helps to tame any frizzes from sleeping and helps to give the hair a nice definition.

If I were to oil my hair after showering, I would 100% overdose and my hair would end up looking quite gross. Once in the evening and once in the morning seems excessive but I'm not sure how to balance it so that I'm putting oil in my hair after showering but at the same time can use oil in the morning as a conditioner.

Any advice would be appreciated.
