[Build Help] Multi-Purpose Powerhouse

Build Help

TL;DR: After some great direction from this sub I have revised my planned build. We made the swap from i7 to Ryzen to support my priority items noted below. Basically this rig will need to handle everything from gaming+streaming, to music production and video editing.

Where I need your help: While I am not on a tight budget, I understand I may have went a bit overboard in certain areas.

  • I have been seeing a lot of mixed feedback on AIO cooling systems (NZXT in particular), which now has me double thinking the plan. I won't lie...the AIO's are extremely aesthetically pleasing, but if it doesn't make sense I can part ways for now. I am also not firm on the RGB lighting, so I considered the Corsair H100i instead?

  • I am not firm on the case, while it looks beautiful I am sure you may have some other options. Prefer matte black with a window, minimalist. Some sweeteners could be optical drive slots, and noise reduction (live recording situations).

  • Compatibility? For the most part I trust PC Part Picker's compatibility feature, but is there anything here that just won't work well with something else?

  • Time to buy? I have the cash ready now, but should I wait around for Black Friday? Should I be placing price notifications on parts and just grab them one at a time whenever a decent sale is run?

  • What am I missing? Anything?

  • Any other notes?

###Build Help/Ready: Multi-Purpose Powerhouse

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)

Yes, thank you.

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

As the title states this is meant to be a multi-purpose powerhouse.

Music Production: High Priority

Gaming: High Priority

Video Production: Moderate Priority

Photo Editing: Moderate Priority

PC Streaming: Moderate Priority

Console Streaming: Moderate Priority

Basic Internet Browsing Etc.: Low Priority

Microsoft Office Etc.: Low Priority

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)

Gaming I would love to have great graphics at top end settings, with the ability to stream simultaneously. Willing to sacrifice overall graphics for framerate in certain circumstances.

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

I don't have a tight budget, and I am willing to spend more to get what I need. However, if I can trim back in certain areas and still get the performance I need I am not opposed.

In what country are you purchasing your parts?

USA

Post a draft of your potential build here (specific parts please). Consider formatting your parts list. Don't ask to be spoonfed a build (read the rules!).

Provide any additional details you wish below.

Currently I have an Alienware (I know, I know...) M17x R3. I have had it since about 2010 or 2011, and it has served me quite well. I bought it initially to use for gaming, video editing, music production, and school work. Once I was done with school, it became more of a desktop replacement than a laptop -- but it doesn't have the power to back it up.

Specs:

Windows 10 64-bit

Intel i7 2670QM 2.2 GHz

Nvidia GTX 580m

16GB RAM

For the most part this computer still does 98% of what I need it to do, and with relative ease. However, it is starting to get old, and it just so happens that the 2% of things I can't do are the next step of my progression. It seems I am most held back by my GPU -- but as I am sure you know there aren't many great options to upgrade on this setup.

I would love to get to a point where I can run my laptop in conjunction with my desktop, but hopefully treat it more like a laptop.

The case I initially opted for was the Nanoxia Deep Silence for the sake of using this in a live recording space, but I slotted in the NZXT for this build. Open to options here too. I also initially wanted two optical drives, but that sounds pretty old school. I've noticed most popular cases don't even have space for optical drives. I am not sure I would be using them frequently enough to make stink about it, but I would love to have them available.

I am really looking for areas I may have went overkill in, and could potentially trim back then put that money elsewhere in the build.

I may be missing something here, but I am open to discussion.
