[Event] Development Spending, Pt. 3: Electric Boogaloo

The survey has come back in, and it seems the Swiss people and government authorities are split down the middle on the idea of centralization. It will no doubt be necessary to encourage more enthusiasm before the time is right to expand the powers of the Tagsatzung. Fortunately, an opportunity to gain goodwill with the public is close at hand: the third part of the long-term program for developing the cantons.

Three hundred thousand ducats have been set aside for this particular investment. Two-thirds of those coins will be put into developing infrastructure in the Swiss associates and vassal states, while one-third will this time focus on rural development within the primary cantons: farms, better-maintained roads, the clearing of forests, and the like.

If the effort is successful, the Tagsatzung will no doubt claim it to be another benefit of the central government.
