Why do you think a lot of republicans aren't backing up Trump's Charlottesville comments?

Obviously they dont have any real obligation to, but many on the right dont seem to agree with trumps comments on how there was violence on both sides even after he did condemn the white supremacists directly. Wouldn't it be in their interests as well to call out violent, left leaning organizations like BLM and Antifa?
