Who is looking at my information and why are you doing this?
I realize that some people may feel uncomfortable with an Unofficial Teacher Exchange due to the personal information that may be given out so I thought I'd try to answer the first two questions in the title:
#Who is looking at my information?:
My name is Daniel and I have been redditing for 4+ years. This is a 'throwaway' to separate all the posts I may be receiving regarding this exchange program, but I promise I've been here for a while.
I am 26 years old and live in the Chicago suburbs. I currently work as an engineering consultant.
The review of information will be limited to just me. If/Once we get started and a need for more reviewers comes about, the community will definitely be informed before a change is made.
#Why are you doing this?
There is no ill-intent with this program. I am not looking to give away your information or anything of the sort.
I have always prioritized education and really enjoyed the stories that came out of the Reddit Teachers Exchange program in the past. It had always been uplifting to read.
I am also currently engaged to an educator! She is the one who showed me first hand how much a teacher is impacted just by getting a few school supplies (I got her a few posters for her classroom for her birthday 2 years ago and she flipped out. This year she's getting a few more things but she hasn't started school yet!).
There was also a need for this program. I saw how much people disliked the Donors Choose program last year and saw that redditgifts was no longer doing any sort of Teacher Exchange this year, so I wanted to help fill that void.
All those combined have set the foundation for my drive to get a Teacher Exchange off the ground this year!
Feel free to ask me any questions or express any concerns!
