Looking for a Soho Firewall/switch solution

I'm currently running a SOHO firewall solution which I got from an old job. It's a little old and capped out at 100 Mbps WAN. It is currently 1 WAN/4LAN (100/1G), respectively.

I'd like to build or purchase something that would support Gigabit all around, especially since we can get GB to the home now.

I'd like to be able to create firewall rules, be a VPN endpoint for laptops/phones. (IPSec), support VLANs and QoS. Also, I'd love to be able to SSH and script commands to it. Ideally I'd be able to look at traffic logs too.

Is building a pfSense my best option? I have a 5 year old i5 and a dual GB nic laying around I can use.

Any other solutions to consider? I'd like to keep the cost under $200 if possible.
