Ryzen cooler
Hello!
I am doing a Ryzen build and am having trouble finding an appropriate cooler. I don't plan on doing any overclocking so I'm going with an air cooling solution.
The problem is, where I live there really is no good selection of coolers, especially since I can't find the Ryzen upgrade kits anywhere. I've been looking at CoolerMaster Hyper 212 LED Turbo and it says it's Ryzen ready. Sweet! I have the 212 EVO in my current PC and it's served me great so I guess I'm good with CoolerMaster.
And now for my question: I see it can be mounted to AM4 using the stock clamp system, but if mounted that way, it's oriented so that the air flows from the bottom up (from the GPU to the top of the case), instead of from the front to the back. I'd hate to have it that way, and I don't like the clamp system.
But! I've been looking at some pictures and it comes with a set of straight metal things (Visible here, right of the cable, top two pieces) And I suspect they might be used to mount it in the right orientation, since I've seen some other coolers mount that way on AM4 (Arctic Freezer 33). But since I've not been able to find any decent pictures or proof of it, now I need someone who has the cooler, or has seen it on AM4, to confirm or debunk my theory. Can it be used for AM4 or is it just a different Intel mount?
Thank you!
EDIT: It's the 1700x so no Wraith
EDIT2: Okay, so I found the manual on their site, turns out the two straight mount things are for AM3 and the other older sockets, so the only way to mount it is pointing upwards.
