Jaguar vs Rick
I keep thinking about the ending credits scene of the Pickle Rick episode, where Rick and Morty face imminent death, but are saved by Jaguar. It's meant as a fun Jaguar story, and throws viewers off who see this 30 sec scene in the credits and believe it was a look into a full episode. But I kept thinking, why would Jaguar save them?
Jaguar and Rick squared off in a fight for the death, one motivated by freedom and his daughter, the other by cucumber survival. They ended by both being alive, tricking the Agency Director to climb to the top for the helicopter, and then blowing up the building. But how did Pickle Rick and Jaguar agree to end fighting and begin working together? They were unaware of Jaguar's daughter's fate until the phone call after the ceasefire. If Jaguar was motivated by the thought of his daughter's survival, only to see her if he successfully kills Pickle Rick, why would he stop?
My theory is Pickle Rick won the fight. This is a rare moment of Rick showing mercy. He disarmed or had Jaguar in some sort of checkmate, and showed him mercy. This showing of mercy grants Rick an "I-owe-you" from Jaguar. Jaguar is then "even" by saving Rick and Morty from Concerto.
Rick ends the scene with "that's why you don't go to therapy", meaning he had gained an asset in Jaguar that he never would've had if he had not turned himself into a Pickle.
TDLR: Rick granted Jaguar mercy, not killing him, they worked together, and Jaguar repaid him by saving him and Morty from Concerto.
