My 3 year old blackfaced so he could play a superhero.

My very pale 3 year old is obsessed with the Avengers. Right now his favorite is Black Panther. He wants to be Black Panther for Halloween. That should be easy, right? They sell those costumes.

Oh, no, he doesn't just want to be Black Panther. He wants to be T'Challa, protector of Wakanda. But, older brother wisely pointed out, T'Challa is brown, and 3 year old is not! How can he be Black Panther?!

The discussion was dropped, or so I thought, and we moved on with our lives. Until this afternoon, I found 3 year old sneaking around in the corner of his playroom, hiding something. Yep, he found a brown marker and had colored his arms and face so he could play Black Panther.

I admire his creativity, but we're going to come up with a different costume for Halloween.
