Treating Whiplash

I was in a car accident last Friday (6 days ago today) where I was rear ended at a slow speed by the person behind me. It seemed like a minor crash, very minimal damage done to my vehicle and very slow speed (we were just starting to move again after waiting at red light). But now I seem to be suffering from telltale symptoms of whiplash: pain and stiffness in my neck, tension headaches, trouble concentrating, and even moodiness.

I went to my chiropractic clinic yesterday, that I've been attending regularly for a different problem (upper bank pain and chronic tendonitis in my elbows and wrists), and I think treatment made it worse. I was also treated by a new doctor- I go to a clinic where multiple people practice, and the guy I see most frequently was out of the office yesterday.

I'm sure that the root cause is the car accident, but is it possible that neck and back adjustments can exacerbate problems caused by whiplash? Yesterday prior to my appointment I actually felt really good, back to normal, but then after my appointment I felt worse, much more neck stiffness and slight headache, and throughout the day today those symptoms have been increasing.

I'm not looking for medical advice so much as just wanting to know your experiences with other patients and if it's possible I should be concerned. Thanks in advance!
