[5th Edition] DM announced our next campaign is going to take place on the Sword Coast. Wondering if making an Asmodeus worshipping LE Paladin is apporpriate in the setting.

I've been reading the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide and it mentions that worship of Asmodeus isn't really "widespread", but doesn't seem to make you an absolute pariah. Would it be rather out of character for a paladin to be lawful evil if my oath is Oath of the Crown? Just looking to have a character that could actually potentially exist in the setting rather than a 1 in a million unique type dude.
