eReader recommendation for graphic-heavy pdfs?

Hello,

Considering an eReader for the first time. I'll primarily be using it for my physics text books. They are in pdf format (some just scanned unfortunately) and tend to have lots of mathematical symbols and graphs. I was curious what you would recommend given these constraints?

I like the idea of of NOT having games/email/distractions built in, but it's not a huge deal. I've heard something like a kindle might not be my best bet considering the format I'm interested in. I also love writing in the margins, although it tends to be equations so a stylus would be easier to do so with than a keypad.

Thoughts?
