Windows 2000 and backward compatibility

Quick question: Is Windows 2000 compatible with DOS and Win9x games?

EDIT: For a context, Win95/98/98SE/ME are rather unstable as OSes however they can run DOS games natively so I always use one of those 4 (or Win3) for my retro PCs. However, Win2k has all these glorious things like native USB support, rock solid stability and NTness and I would use it for my old PCs however I'm not sure if it's DOS compatible or not. I think it may be as XP (To an extent) does run 16-bit DOS applications.
