Looking for book on ancient Greece/Rome that describes the world as it is from the perspective of the author.

I've heard of Natural History (Pliny) and Naturales quaestiones (Seneca). Any suggestions which one is, ehm, more rewarding to read? Maybe something else is worth of note? Thanks!
