Looking for advice for friend having wisdom tooth issues

They finaly went to the dentist due to extreme pain Not able to eat often can only get 2 or 3 hours of sleep and got some xrays done, they have a chipped tooth, some cavities, and their wisdom teeth are starting to fully come in.
The thing I found sketchy is that the dentist wanted to do things in this order

1. chipped tooth
2. All the cavities
3. Then finally wisdom teeth

Now I'm not a dentist myself or I wouldn't be here asking but that looks freaking bad and their dentist words were "Do the other things first and hold off til its too much" .... This doesnt sound right Also told them to come in next week
