Met Sean(MTS) in SF, and got the real storyline to Worlds Apart.

Discussion

Sean&I

So I met and spoke with Sean from Make Them Suffer!

Alright, so here we go. Just going to let all out that I heard from him. So, I've been quite a fan of MTS for a while now, followed all the story line from Neverbloom and on. I've been reading every lyric and trying to piece together the actual story for the new album 'Worlds Apart'.

I tweeted to Sean a couple of weeks ago asking for some help, he replied telling me to first start with the song Contact. It had the numbers 1803 642 795. Those #'s represent two meanings; being a disconnected phone #(empty dialtone refer to Vortex) and the other being the order of the songs. 0 is the 10th song Save Yourself. It goes:

First Movement - A boy meets a girl and he was somewhat already broken, it's almost a sign of hope for him.

Midnight Run - The boy basically goes on a bender, ignoring everything, being selfish and ends up ignoring the girl while she was waiting to watch the 'play'(ends up being a direct reference to the movie 'Midnight Run'. "Now I can't think of the words, but it was something about a means to an end" most likely is a reference to "Scraping the Barrel" which is a song about drinking and most likely associated with our character when he's out having his run.

Save Yourself - Him realizing he has hurt her, and he never meant to but he has his own demons to sort out type of thing.

Grinding Teeth - The girl is trying to get a hold of him, while he's still ignoring her. He seems more interested into taking the call from her. The lyrics still implying he's out doing his own thing. And towards the end of this song, it seems he is finally taking the call.

Contact - The call is answered, and things are about to get a little weird...

Vortex - He literally has been sucked into this phone call, being twisted and falling apart going back to the start. When he's in this void, he is reaching the bottom.

Uncharted - He is now in the other world(WORLDS APART), and he is starting to see some positivity from this. Talking about abandoning his physical form, his eye's opened wide in painted colored lines. He has turned or found out he has been only a TOY to this girl(reference the toys in Fireworks). He also talks about a new plain that lies inside them.

Power Overwhelming - This song is talking about maybe he bit off too much to chew. Talking about reborn into a renowned ancient plain. He's speaking negatively about their faith in one another and such now resting in piece(dead). I'm assuming since she never checked her phone, she never really got the message about them not really going to work out. He's now telling her to put him on her shelf, with her most prize possessions. This song was confirmed associated with Starcraft.

Dead Plains - This song is similar to Weeping Wastelands, however it bears similar lyrics to Neverbloom, talking about tears turning to salt, and falling on the earth and ruining it and the soil. He is now a toy, on her shelf. Stuck alone, still watching her cries and pain. Forever. He's saying how he starts to think that she forgot where she left him last and how it's becoming a problem. She cries for her friend(the boy) for the sadness in heart is what she grew to depend, unknowing he's a toy. The sound, where the clouds are(her crying), guess it's getting closer and she needed some closure(he just vanished so a lot wasn't really closed). And, no one will ever let him out and he's stuck living in the dead plains.

Fireworks - This song is basically Chronicles from Neverbloom. He basically has came to a conclusion in himself that he needs to find his way back to being with her, one way or another(we really dont know). He will make it right this time and wants to take her hand. This song references a lot of burning and fire. Tracing it back, remembering what they used to be. He really just wants to make it back to her, and wants her to be there for him. Ending up to be somewhat of a positive ending.

So, yes this album does have Lord of Woe, and previous album connections. But, assuming since we haven't seen many music videos with the LoW in them.

It was awesome talking to Sean, and figuring this all out. He actually took the time out, and flipped the back of the album over and literally pointed to each song and explained them. It was awesome.

TL;DR. Boy meets girl, boy ignores girl, she tries to contact him, empty dial tone, he finally answers, sucked into the phone/void, turns out the dude was a toy on her shelf, shes sad he vanished, he witness the sadness, and then finds the courage to try to fix things.

Was your understanding similar to this, or far off?
