Is Trump this century's James Buchanan?
Buchanan, our fifteenth president, was a weak coward, so poorly prepared for his job that his adminstration helped pave the road to the Civil War. Trump likes to compare himself to Andrew Jackson (himself, a genocidal psychopath), but I see a stronger comparison with James Buchanan. Do you agree? Am I wrong? If I'm wrong, why? If I'm right, what can we do about it?
[edit: Perhaps, this isn't the best subreddit for this post, but I consider myself a leftist, so I am writing this post from that perspective. I won't debate the virtues of socialism (et al.) Yet, I welcome constructive criticism, so if a consensus can bring a more appropriate leftist subreddit to my attention, please let me know.]
