A Song of Ice and Fire?

So it seems that this season, more than any other. I've noticed people referencing the title of the series, and whom it may refer to. With the events of this season, everyone is shipping Jon and Dany and mentioning the title about them.

I learned of R+L=J during the first season, and was a believer immediately. Started reading the books after the Red Wedding (My heart couldn't take any more surprises like that! lol)

I have always thought that ASOIAF referred to Jon himself, since his parents make ice and fire. And that he was really the one central to the story (if it's possible to have a central character) I've only joined the freefolk since season 5 I think. So I can't profess to have seen every single post lol.

But I just found it curious that I've seen soo many more Dany+Jon = ASOIAF in opposed to Jon=ASOIAF..
