Help with garden stones

Hi I bought my first house in May and I'm planning to tidy my garden this week. I have a lot of stones in the front garden. I have a skip coming and will remove them myself. I am wondering if you have any ideas as to what I can replace the stones with. I was planning on sowing some grass seed but the stones are quite deep.

Any ideas?
